§ 2-1678. Public works working capital fund—Establishment; use.

There is hereby established a permanent fund, to be known as the public works working
capital fund, to provide money for financing the cost of operation, maintenance and
replacement of motor equipment and nonmotorized construction and maintenance equipment
in the custody of the public works department and for financing the purchase and storage
of materials and supplies pending their use. Such fund may be used for financing the
cost of manufacture, purchase and repair of equipment, tools and commodities and also
other reimbursable services rendered by one division of the public works department
to another division or to another department of the city government. Such fund may
also be used for financing expenditures upon city-owned property or property for which
the city is responsible in cases where costs are to be incurred in the first instance
by the public works department, but for which the public works department is to be
reimbursed by a private agency or individual in pursuance of a public contract or
project.
