§ 6-40. Vehicular traffic.
(a)
Use of public streets. Airport streets and highways designated by the director of aviation as being open to the use of the public are public streets subject to regulation and control pursuant to the various sections of chapter 70.
(b)
Violation of traffic regulations. The failure of any person on the airport to fully comply with any section of chapter 70 shall constitute a violation of such section, and all duly commissioned law enforcement officers are authorized to issue a traffic summons which shall charge a violation of such section, and such violation shall be subject to the penalties prescribed by section 1-17 and the applicable penalty sections contained in chapter 70.
(c)
Parking. The director of aviation is authorized to install parking meters on the airport or to contract for the installation, operation and maintenance of and collection from parking meters by others. Vehicles on the airport shall park only in parking areas provided and shall not park or operate upon the air operations area unless specifically authorized by the director of aviation, and then only in conformity with rules and regulations promulgated by the director of aviation.
(d)
Stands for vehicles using valet service or curbside check-in service. The director of aviation is authorized to designate, by official signs and markings, areas on roadways adjacent to terminal buildings for the exclusive use of vehicles using valet parking service or curbside airline baggage check-in or ticketing service. No person shall stop a vehicle in an airport valet service stand for any purpose other than to utilize such valet service or in an airport check-in service stand for any purpose other than to utilize such check-in service, when any such stand has been officially designated and appropriately signed.
