§ 6-39. Flying schools.

  • (a)

    Prerequisites. No person shall use the airport as a base from which to give flight instruction, or any other instructions pertaining to flight or aerial navigation, unless such instructor has been approved by the Federal Aviation Administration and unless such person shall first have made a written request to the director of aviation for the privilege of operating a flying school and for student training and shall have paid such fees and charges as may be prescribed for such privileges.

    (b)

    Aircraft standards. All aircraft used in the operation of flying schools shall be an approved type and certificated by the Federal Aviation Administration. Each aircraft shall have the standard equipment and, in addition, a fire extinguisher and a first aid kit.
