§ 50-192. Unlawful entry into area designated as disaster area.

  • (a)

    If any area within the city limits is damaged or destroyed by tornado, wind, fire, flood or enemy action, or by any common disaster, the mayor may, by proclamation, establish disaster area boundaries covering the area which is damaged or destroyed. The proclamation shall prescribe what persons and vehicles are authorized to enter the disaster area, and all persons not specifically authorized by such proclamation to enter the disaster area shall be barred from entry therein. When the necessity no longer exists, the disaster area may be terminated by subsequent proclamation.

    (b)

    Any person convicted of unlawfully entering any disaster area which is created by authority of this section shall be punished by imprisonment in the municipal correctional institution for not less than one day and not more than six months, or by a fine of not less than $1.00 and not more than $500.00, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
