§ 34-225. Birth records in cases of adoption.

In cases of adoption, the director of health, upon receipt of a certified copy of an order or decree of adoption, shall prepare an amendatory certificate for children born in the city in the new name of the adopted person, and shall void the original certificate of birth. Upon receipt of a certified copy of a court order of the amendment of an adoption, the director of health shall restore the certificate to its original form.
