§ 2-1091. Certificate for wages upon leaving service.

Any officer or employee who for any cause shall be discharged from or quit the service of the city shall receive at the time of his discharge a certificate from the foreman of the department from which he shall have been discharged, stating the time he has worked and the amount due him from the city for such labor. Such certificate, when assigned in the presence of and attested by the director of finance, shall entitle the assignee thereof to receive such wages as may be due.
