Pursuant to the provisions of section 25 of the charter, there is hereby established a department to be known as the information
technology department. The officer in charge of such department shall be known as
the director of the information technology department, shall be appointed by the city
manager, and shall have such duties, powers and authorities as are prescribed in this
division, or as may hereafter be prescribed by ordinance. Such department shall be
a renamed continuation of the former office of technology and information services.
Whenever any reference is made in this Code to the former office of information and
technology services it shall be understood to mean the information technology department.
