Before entering upon the duties of office, every official shall file with the City
Clerk a certificate of election or appointment, and shall take and subscribe before,
and file with the City Clerk, an oath or affirmation that the person possesses all
the qualifications for the office to which chosen, and is not subject to any of the
disqualifications in this Charter named, will support the constitution and laws of
the United States and of the State of Missouri, will observe the provisions of this
Charter and ordinances of Kansas City, and will faithfully discharge the duties of
the office.
