§ 78-296. Other new water connections.

  • (a)

    New underground connections for irrigation systems with facilities for introduction of chemical additives or with equipment creating back pressure, must have an approved air gap separation or an approved reduced-pressure principle backflow prevention assembly installed in the line, in accordance with section 78-298.

    (b)

    New fire protection systems using chemical additives must have an approved air gap separation or an approved reduced-pressure principal backflow prevention assembly installed in the line in accordance with section 78-298. New fire protection lines not using chemical additives must have an approved double-check valve assembly installed in the service line in accordance with section 78-298.

    (c)

    Major modifications or major additions to water systems will be considered to be new service lines or systems for purposes of this section.
