§ 78-26. Tests and inspections of water meters.

  • (a)

    Authority of city; payment of costs. The water services department shall cause water meters to be removed from service for test and inspection at such intervals as required to promote the accuracy of their registration. The cost of such removal, test, inspection, repairs and replacement shall be borne by the city.

    (b)

    Test at consumer's request. The removal of a water meter for test and inspection may be requested by the accountholder served by the meter. If a meter so removed by accountholder order is found by tests to be over-registering the water metered by more than two percent, the cost of removal, test and replacement shall be borne by the water services department; otherwise, the cost thereof shall be borne by the accountholder.
