§ 70-76. Applicability of chapter to public employees.

The provisions of this chapter shall apply to the drivers of all vehicles owned or
operated by the United States, this state, or any county, town, district or other
political subdivision of the state, subject to such specific exceptions as are set
forth in this chapter or in the state vehicle code.

Annotation—
That section of Motor Vehicle Safety Responsibility Law pertaining to exemptions from
its coverage does not exempt employees of municipality or employees of police department
when such employees in discharge of official duties are operating motor vehicles owned
by city or police department, and such employees are subject to such law. City of
