§ 64-324. Placement of wires underground—Required on certain streets.

  • All persons owning, operating, leasing or in any manner controlling wires and poles used in telephone, telegraph, electric light or power business in the streets and sidewalks of the city, within the territory bounded on the north by the north line of Second Street, on the south by the south line of 18th Street, on the west by the west line of Jefferson Street, and on the east by the east line of Forest Avenue, and in the area of any boulevard in the city, shall lay the wires in such places underground in pipes or conduits. The system and kind of pipe or conduit shall, before any work is done, be approved by the director of public works or the board of parks and recreation commissioners, as the case may be.
