§ 62-152. Definitions.

The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this article, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:

Director means the director of the department of environmental management or his designee.

Lead-acid battery means any battery that consists of lead and sulfuric acid, is used as a power source, and has a capacity of six volts or more.

Secondary lead smelter means a facility which produces metallic lead from various forms of lead scrap, including used lead-acid batteries. Such a facility also may produce plastic chips that are sent for reprocessing.
