§ 58-31. Lighting viaducts over tracks.

  • Every person owning or operating a railroad, whenever he has constructed or shall hereafter construct any viaduct in a street over his tracks, shall provide concrete standard posts on each side of the viaduct, 100 feet apart, the posts on each side to alternate every 50 feet with the posts on the opposite side, and to equip each post so erected with one 100-watt electric lamp, and keep such lamps burning from before dark to after daylight every day of the year; provided that any other equally efficient method of lighting such viaduct may be used by procuring the written consent thereto of the city manager and the director of public works.
