§ 56-32. Scope of article.

  • (a)

    The provisions of this article shall apply to every building and its premises used in whole or in part as a dwelling, irrespective of the primary use of such building, and irrespective of when such building may have been constructed, altered or repaired. This article shall further apply to all accessory buildings or structures.

    (b)

    This article establishes minimum standards for occupancy and the maintenance of the building and the grounds surrounding such building, and does not replace or modify standards otherwise established for construction, replacement or repair of buildings, except such as are contrary to the provisions of this article.
