§ 50-349. Registration of alarm agents.

  • (a)

    Within 180 days of the effective date of this article, all alarm agents and alarm sales persons shall obtain a valid identification card issued by the alarm coordinator. Said identification card shall establish that the alarm agent has met the qualifications to become an alarm agent as herein set out.

    (b)

    Every alarm agent and alarm sales person shall maintain his or her identification card on his or her person while acting in the scope of his or her employment and shall produce said identification card upon request of any customer, prospective customer or lawful authority, including but not limited to any Kansas City, Missouri police officer.

    (c)

    Each alarm agent shall be required to have a NBFAA Level I Certificate of course completion or an acceptable equivalent in the alarm agents name.

    (d)

    Each alarm sales person shall be required to have a NBFAA Sales Training Certificate of course completion or an acceptable equivalent or the alarm sales persons name.

    (e)

    All identification cards issued to an alarm agent or alarm sales person shall require proof of good moral character and no such identification card shall be issued to a person who has been adjudicated guilty of a felony.

    (f)

    The provisions of section 50-349 of this article shall not apply to:

    (1)

    Persons engaged solely in the manufacture or sale of an alarm system or the components thereof from a fixed location who do not install, maintain, service or plan the alarm system for any location.

    (2)

    Persons engaged in the repair of alarm systems or components from a fixed location and who do not, either personally or through an agent, visit the structure in which or on which the alarm system is installed.
