§ 50-156. Same—Law enforcement powers of mayor.

  • In case of any riot, unlawful assembly or threatened public commotion, the mayor shall have power to direct the action of all police and law enforcing agencies of the city and to call to his aid all citizens in suppressing the riot, unlawful assembly or threatened public commotion, and, in case of urgent necessity, to employ special police. The mayor shall have power to make arrests in cases where he shall have good reason to believe that such offenses have been or are about to be committed and to summon citizens to his aid in making such arrests.
