Article I. IN GENERAL |
§ 50-9. Stalking.
(a)
Definitions. The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this section, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this subsection, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:
Course of conduct means a pattern of conduct composed of a series of acts over a period of time, however short, evidencing a continuity of purpose. Constitutionally protected activity is not included within the meaning of course of conduct.
Harass means engaging in a knowing course of conduct directed at a specific person that serves no legitimate purpose, that would cause a reasonable person to suffer substantial emotional distress, and that actually causes substantial emotional distress to that person.
Stalk means to purposely and repeatedly harass or follow with the intent of harassing another person.

Prohibited. It shall be unlawful for any person to stalk another person.
