Article III. MASSAGE SHOPS |
§ 42-121. Apprentices.
Licensed massage shop operators may employ persons desiring to apprentice at such establishment to become permitted massagists, masseurs or masseuses under the provisions of this chapter under the following requirements:
(1)
Each apprentice applicant must be of the age 18 years or older.
(2)
Each such applicant, prior to becoming employed in a massage shop, must obtain an employee permit marked "Massage Apprentice" approved by the bureau of liquor control. Such permit shall not be renewable unless there exist extenuating circumstances as defined in the regulations promulgated by the supervisor of liquor control.
(3)
Each apprentice, before becoming qualified to take the examination to become a massagist, masseur or masseuse, shall have completed at least 1,000 clock hours of instruction and practice in massage work and the use of therapy equipment and supplies utilized in body massage under the strict supervision of a licensed or permitted massagist, masseur or masseuse. The licensee employing the apprentice shall verify in good faith, in writing, on a form furnished by the bureau of liquor control, to such bureau, as a condition precedent to taking the examination, that the apprentice has fulfilled all the requirements of this subsection.
(4)
The number of apprentices in any licensed massage shop shall be limited to not more than three to each permitted massagist, masseur or masseuse employed in such establishment.
