§ 42-94. Examination of applicants for massagist permit.

  • (a)

    The supervisor of liquor control shall prepare, or have prepared, and administer examinations for those applicants who are qualified under the provisions of this chapter to take an examination to become permitted or licensed massagists, masseurs and masseuses. Examinations shall be given whenever at least ten or more persons have applied for the examination, but at least three times a year at regular periods if there are any applicants at those times for the examination.

    (b)

    Any applicant who, according to his test grade, has failed to pass the examination to be a permitted massagist, masseur or masseuse shall be entitled to inspect his examination papers. He may seek a review of the test by the director of finance or his authorized designee, who shall in no event be the supervisor of liquor control, following the procedures set forth in section 42-41.

    (c)

    All examination papers are and shall remain the permanent confidential records of the bureau of liquor control, not to be shown to the public or to any person without the express written consent of the applicant. This shall not include governmental agencies authorized by law to inspect such records.

    (d)

    In conducting examinations for massagist, masseur and masseuse licenses and employee permits, the supervisor of liquor control shall, among others, use the following to test the applicant's knowledge and skill of body massage:

    (1)

    Definition of body massage.

    (2)

    Personal physical requirements of the massagist to perform body massage.

    (3)

    Anatomy and physiology.

    (4)

    Forms of physical therapy and hydrotherapy as it pertains to body massage.

    (5)

    Uses of massage equipment and supplies.

    (6)

    Theory and practice of body massage.
