§ 40-340. Bus businesses.
(a)
License fee for businesses operating within city. Every bus transportation company, and every corporation, company, association, joint stock company or association, partnership and person, and their lessees, trustees or receivers appointed by any court whatsoever, owning, holding, operating, managing, leasing or controlling a local bus transportation business or system for the pickup and discharge of passengers within the city, shall pay to the city a license fee of $1.00 per year.
(b)
License fee for businesses operating beyond city limits. Every bus transportation company, and each corporation, company, association, joint stock company or association, partnership and person, and their lessees, trustees or receivers appointed by any court whatsoever, owning, holding, operating, managing, leasing or controlling a bus transportation business or system between the city and contiguous municipalities or within a commercial zone as defined by the state statutes, solely for the purpose of transporting passengers for hire from points outside the city limits to points within the city or from points within the city to points outside the city limits, shall pay an annual license fee of $1.00 per year.
(c)
Exceptions. The provisions of this section shall not apply to school buses used solely to transport students to or from any place for educational purposes.
