A street stand is any place near to or adjoining any sidewalk, alley or other public highway where candy, fruits, confections, nuts, lemonade or any other articles or things which are eaten or drunk, or cutlery, spectacles, hardware, pocketbooks, jewelry or other articles of ornament or necessity, are sold, offered or exposed for sale.
