§ 34-228. Report of deaths and stillbirths.

  • Every death or stillbirth occurring within the city limits shall be reported to the director of health on a form prescribed and furnished by the director of health. The person in charge of interment shall complete the certificate of death or stillbirth and present such certificate to the physician last in attendance upon the deceased or, if death or stillbirth occurred without medical attendance, to the director of health or the coroner, who shall certify the cause of death or stillbirth, according to his best knowledge and belief. Within three days after occurrence of the death or stillbirth, the person in charge of interment shall file the complete certificate of death or stillbirth with the director of health.
