§ 34-144. Fumigation permit; exemptions from article.

  • (a)

    Permit required. No person engaged in doing fumigation work for the public for hire shall conduct or be in general charge of any fumigation of any building, or portion thereof, without holding in full force and effect a fumigation permit from the director of health and without complying with the requirements prescribed in this article, except public employees of the United States, the state or the city, in the prosecution of their public duties.

    (b)

    Exemptions from article. The provisions of this article shall not apply to any individual or business concern doing fumigating upon premises under its own control in connection with its regular business operations.

    (c)

    Permit fee; duration of permit. The applicant shall pay a fee of $2.00 for such permit, which shall be in force for a period of one year unless or until revoked during such time.

    (d)

    Revocation of permit. Such permit may be revoked by the director of health upon notice and hearing for any violation of the ordinances relating to fumigation or for the negligent use of gases by the fumigator or any employee of the fumigator.
