§ 34-2. General authority of director of health.

The director of health shall have and exercise sanitary supervision over all premises, both public and private, all public and private marketplaces, public and private schools, schoolhouses, places of amusement or other places of public resort within the city, and shall, whenever necessary for the public health or the health of the citizens in any locality, have such premises, marketplaces, schoolhouses, places of amusement or other places of public resort cleaned as provided in this chapter.
