§ 30-152. Labeling.
All cans, packages and other containers enclosing mix or frozen dairy products or their ingredients derived from milk, except ice cream and milk sherbet filled from labeled bulk containers in retail dispensing, shall be plainly labeled or marked with:
(1)
The name of the contents;
(2)
In the case of mix, the word "pasteurized" if the contents have been pasteurized, and the word "raw" if the contents have not been pasteurized;
(3)
The name and street address of the plant at which the contents were placed in the container, or, in lieu thereof, the letters "KCMO" and the permit number of the establishment or identification by methods proposed by the national labeling committee which includes the assigned state number and the assigned number of the plant within the state; and
(4)
An accurate statement of the quantity of the contents, in terms of weight or measure. A descriptive word or phrase indicating in more detail the composition of flavoring of the mix or frozen dairy products, such as strawberry, chocolate, custard, lemon, etc., may be used on the label. The label shall be in a form which is readily legible, shall clearly identify and distinguish the product, and shall be exposed to unobstructed public view at all times that the product is being offered for sale.
