§ 2-875. Evaluation of preliminary design concept for structures to be erected on city property.

  • Whenever a contract is awarded by the city, or by any private or public body, for preparation of plans and specifications for any building, bridge, viaduct, approach, gate, fence, lamp, marquee, sign or any other structure to be erected upon or above land belonging to the city, the contractor shall present the preliminary design proposal for the object, facility or structure to the municipal art commission for review prior to the commencement of working drawings and specifications. All city departments, boards and commissions shall also submit preliminary design proposals on any city project to the municipal art commission prior to the commencement of working drawings and specifications prepared by city employees or where there is no contract and the work is to be done by city forces.
