§ 2-261. Divisions; officials succeeded by director; duties of director.

  • (a)

    The health department shall consist of the following divisions: division of administration and records; division of environmental health, division of laboratories, division of communicable disease control, division of maternal and child health.

    (b)

    Insofar as not inconsistent with the provisions of the Charter, the director of health is hereby declared to be the successor to the hospital and health board and the members thereof, the superintendent of hospitals, and the health commissioner, and he does hereby succeed to the members thereof, and also the duties of the office and position of superintendent of hospitals, and also the duties of the office and position of the health commissioner as such board and offices have heretofore existed and as such duties are now provided under existing ordinances; and such duties shall be performed by the director of health and, if any such duties as distributed under the provisions of the Charter or this chapter appropriately fall within a division of such department, through the officers and subordinates of such division.
