§ 2-691. Established; director.

  • There is hereby established an office of city communications which shall be supervised by a city communications officer. The city communications officer shall be appointed by and responsible to the city manager. Such officer and office shall serve as a central source of information about the city, serve as an official channel of communication between the city and its public, and supervise public information video production. Such officer shall also advise city management in the development and maintenance of effective current and long-range policies, plans and practices which affect its relations with the public. In addition, the officer shall perform such functions and provide such services as required by the city manager or by ordinance. The office of city communications shall be available to advise city officials and city commissions as required.
