§ 2-1256. Powers and duties of board of trustees.

  • The board of trustees shall have exclusive original jurisdiction in all matters relating to or affecting the funds authorized to be established in this division, including all claims for benefits, refunds or pensions, and to the operation of the pension system. Its action, decision or determination in any matter shall be reviewable by writ of certiorari only, and any party to such certiorari proceedings shall have a right of appeal from the decision of the reviewing court. Each decision or determination of the board shall be made in writing and shall include findings of fact and conclusions of law. Not inconsistent with this division, the board of trustees shall from time to time establish rules and regulations for the administration of the funds authorized to be established in this division, for the pension system, and for the transaction of its business.
