§ 2-1175. Vacation and sick leave conversion on retirement.

(a)

At retirement date, a member may elect to convert credited sick leave or vacation leave to creditable service of this retirement system to be added to the creditable service as determined in section 2-1173.

(b)

Such conversion shall be made in units of full months with 160 hours equaling one month of creditable service, except that for all EMS personnel assigned to 24-hour static shifts, such conversion shall be made in units of full months with 215 hours equaling one month of creditable service.

(c)

All hours converted to retirement creditable service shall be deducted from those compensated under section 2-1099.
