§ 24-36. Suspension or revocation.

  • Whenever the commissioner of revenue shall have reason to believe that any licensee under this article may have violated any of the provisions of this chapter, or has knowingly furnished to the commissioner false, incomplete or misleading information relating to his license, or is employing unlicensed instructors, the commissioner shall, after ten days' notice in writing to the licensee, conduct a hearing to determine whether the license should be suspended or revoked. For the purposes of such hearing, the commissioner shall have authority to subpoena witnesses and evidence, both on behalf of the commissioner and of the licensee, and shall have the authority to administer oaths. Within five days after the conclusion of the hearing the commissioner shall make his finding of fact in writing, and if he shall find that the license should be suspended or revoked he shall forthwith suspend or revoke such license, and shall immediately notify the licensee in writing of such action.
