§ 1-23. Report of accidents to city counselor—Generally.

  • It shall be the duty of the chief of police to cause police officers and other police employees under his control to make written reports of all accidents coming to their knowledge caused by the dangerous or defective condition of any street, bridge, sidewalk or other highway, or by the act of any employee of the city, or in any case where there may be liability on the part of the city for damages. Such reports shall state the time and place of the accident, the name and residence of the injured party, the extent of the injury, the names of witnesses to the accident, and all other facts obtainable in regard to it, and shall be delivered by the chief of police to the city counselor.
